For this reason, linear motors are researched, developed and used in many countries of the world, which means that the application areas of linear motors are becoming ever more extensive.

What are the characteristics of linear motors?

The control of the linear motor is the same as that of the rotary motor. Like brushless rotary motors where the mover and stator are not mechanically connected (brushless), unlike rotary motors where the mover rotates and the stator position remains fixed, linear motor systems can be a magnetic rail or a thrust coil (usually positioned). The system application is magnetically track fixed, thrust coil moves). For motors that use thrust coils for moving, the weight-to-load ratio of the thrust coils is very small. However, highly flexible cables and their management systems are required. A motor moving with a magnetic track must carry not only the load, but also the mass of the magnetic track, without the need for a cable management system.

Similar electromechanical principles are used in linear and rotary motors. The same electromagnetic force that generates torque in a rotary motor generates a linear thrust in a linear motor. Therefore, linear motors use the same control and programmable configuration as rotary motors. The shape of the linear motor can be plate type and U-groove type and pipe type. Which configuration is most suitable depends on the specification requirements of the actual application and the working environment.

What is the principle of using linear motors?

The side that exits from the stator is called the primary side, and the side that exits from the rotor is called the secondary side. In practice, primary and secondary parts are manufactured in different lengths to ensure that the coupling between primary and secondary parts remains constant over the required travel. linear motors can be primary short and secondary long or primary long and secondary short. Taking into account the manufacturing and operating costs, take the linear induction motor as an example: when the primary winding is connected to the AC power supply, a traveling wave magnetic field is generated in the air gap, and the secondary winding induces an electromotive force, generating current under the cutting of the traveling wave magnetic field. The current interacts with the magnetic field in the air gap to generate an electromagnetic thrust.
